Travis Scott Joining Maroon 5 for Super Bowl

Super Bowl LIII just granted audiences a first-class ticket to Travis’ Scott‘s Astroworld. (Hopefully, he brings the rollercoaster!) According to TMZ, the “SICKO MODE” rapper has signed on to perform with Maroon 5 during the halftime show in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3.

Not only will fans be gifted with some hits from Trav, who is currently on one of the hottest tours of 2018 — his Astroworld Tour, a source told the gossip site that “his plus one will be the mother of his child,” Kylie Jenner.

News of Travis’ addition comes just after it was reported that Maroon 5, who is headlining the show, was struggling to find another artist to perform with due to the on-going NFL boycott. Not to mention, there’s also been a ton backlash about the NFL’s decision to choose a non-Atlanta based artist for the performance given that the city has produced some of the biggest names in music.

However, it looks like Maroon 5 is doing their best to remedy the situation as they are said to also be “in talks with several other artists about possibly joining the show, including Cardi B and OutKast‘s Big Boi,” TMZ reports.

As previously reported, multiple artists turned down the Super Bowl LIII headlining gig before it was awarded to Maroon 5. One of the biggest names was Rihanna, who reportedly declined the offer to headline the Super Bowl LIII halftime show because she supports Colin Kaepernick. “The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” an insider told Us Weekly. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
