The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation announced that it will be expanding to serve children and their families all across Michigan. They plan on beginning with three major West Michigan Partnerships – Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and Brain Injury Association.
This transformation will help to expand the independent nonprofit’s efforts to form partnerships with health systems, community organizations and service providers across Michigan. The charitable organization will also be changing it’s name to The Children’s Foundation to reflect the inclusion of partners from all health systems.
“This change puts in place our vision of being the primary children’s health and well-being organization in Michigan,” said Lawrence J. Burns, President & CEO of The Children’s Foundation. “By expanding our charitable efforts in West Michigan and all across the state, we have the ability to assist and impact more children, young adults and families.”
Through funding and advocacy dedicated to three core pillars – Community Benefit, Pediatric Research and Medical Education – The Children’s Foundation enables researchers and community organizations to identify and implement innovations capable of advancing children’s health.
